Newcastle remains safe
As crime and anti-social behaviour continues to fall in Newcastle, Safe Newcastle would like to let you know what we are doing to make our city even safer for us all.
Across Newcastle there were over 1,700 fewer victims of crime last year, but we know that crime is still something that concerns you.
Our partnership, which includes Newcastle City Council, Northumbria Police and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, is committed to continue the good work and make sure the number of victims continues to fall.
To help us do this we have put together a plan of action for the next year. This sets out how we will reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and make you feel safer where you live and when you are out and about. You can read the plan here.
To make sure what we have planned tackles the things you are worried about, we spoke to many of you about your main crime and community safety concerns.
We also studied information about crime figures from the police and other partners so we know what sort of crimes are taking place and where and how community safety issues in Newcastle are changing.We are always interested in your views and opinions about the work we do.
