Safe Newcastle has received more funding from the Government today to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Safe Newcastle's funding will be used to:
- street-based teams of youth workers and ex-gang members to tackle groups of young people involved in crime and disorder
- increasing visible after-school police patrols
This funding is a major mileston in the Youth Crime Action Plan, which was launched in July. it aims to tackle youth crime youth a comprehemsive strategy involving early prevetion, non-negotiable support and tough enforcement.
