You are Here : Home / Look out for the Best Bar None logo when you're out and about
Lots of us enjoy a drink, and nearly everyone likes a good night out. But it’s not much fun if you feel unsafe because of other people’s behaviour in the bar or club of your choice. This is why community safety partnership Safe Newcastle are telling revellers to look out for the Best Bar None logo when they are having a night out on the town.
Best Bar None is a scheme that awards the pubs, bars and clubs of Newcastle which have proven that they are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for their customers and staff. These venues have been fully vetted by the authorities including the police and the council.
“It’s well known that irresponsible drinking can lead to anti-social behaviour,” says Safe Newcastle chair Councillor Gareth Cooper. “The purpose of Best Bar None is to reduce the risk of alcohol-related incidents, disorder and crime. It also allows licensees to do their bit in creating a safe city with a vibrant nightlife.”
Sixty-seven venues in the city have gained the Best Bar None seal of approval, ranging from small traditional pubs with fine ales to large contemporary wine bars. The scheme is important to Newcastle as we draw visitors from all over the UK and beyond for our vibrant nightlife. So whether you are in the lively Bigg Market area, or on the Quayside, look out for the Best Bar None logo logo as this is somewhere that you can have a fun, but safe, night on the town.
