CCTV - How will the cameras be used?
Page content
These cameras will help identify and tackle local problems. We have 30 redeployable cameras that we move across the city where rises in anti-social behaviour or crime are recorded.
Your local Safe Neighbourhoods Action and Problem Solving (SNAPS) group decide where they need to be placed. They do this by looking at evidence of problems, including up-to-date crime figures and information.
Cameras move from area to area, where they are needed most.
Footage from the cameras will be used to provide evidence against individuals in court cases.
Images will be recorded in-line with the Data Protection Act 1998. Images of residents going about their daily life will be deleted
Recordings will not be kept for longer than required and cameras will ony view areas necessary to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
